Book ConsultationWhy a GST Health Check Matters
Most GST notices don’t start with fraud, they start with small, unnoticed gaps that build up quietly over several return cycles: a GSTR-2B mismatch that never gets reconciled, an e-way bill that doesn’t tie back to GSTR-1, Input Tax Credit claimed on a category that’s actually blocked under Section 17(5). None of these look serious in isolation. Together, over a year, they’re exactly what triggers an ASMT-10 or DRC-01 notice.
A GST health check is a proactive review, you run it yourself, on your own schedule, instead of waiting for the department to find the gaps during scrutiny. Our GST Health Checker brings this review online: 18 questions, five minutes, one score.
What the Tool Checks
The assessment is built around the five areas where GST compliance actually breaks down in practice:
- ITC Management (35 points): GSTR-2B vs. GSTR-3B vs. books reconciliation, blocked credit under Section 17(5), the 180-day payment rule, and Rule 42/43 reversals. This is the single largest weight in the score, because ITC errors are the most common and most expensive mistake businesses make.
- Outward Liability (30 points): whether your GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and books agree, e-invoicing and IRN compliance, e-way bill reconciliation, and LUT status for exporters.
- Reverse Charge (15 points): whether RCM-applicable expenses (like GTA and legal fees) are correctly identified, paid in cash as required, and the ITC claimed back properly.
- Payment & Filing (15 points): on-time filing across all returns, Rule 86B (1% cash payment) compliance, and interest paid on any delays.
- Procedural Checks (5 points): Cross-Charge/ISD logic and HSN/SAC code accuracy.
How to Use It
- Go through each category and answer based on your most recently filed return period, guessing or answering optimistically just hides the gaps you’re trying to find.
- Submit to get your GST Health Score out of 100, along with a category-wise breakdown showing exactly where points were lost.
- Review the red-flag list below your score, every parameter that scored zero is named explicitly, so there’s no ambiguity about what to fix first.
Reading Your Score
- (80–100) Healthy Compliance: Your core processes are sound. Clear the flagged items and you’re largely audit-ready.
- (55–79) Needs Attention: There are real gaps that increase your risk of notices or ITC reversal if left over multiple filing cycles.
- (Below 55) High Risk: Multiple critical gaps. We’d recommend a detailed review before your next filing, not after.
What This Tool Isn't
This is a self-assessment, not a substitute for a formal GST audit or a line-by-line reconciliation — it’s designed to tell you where to look, not to replace the CA who does the looking. If you want to understand why each of these 18 parameters matters, how GST notices actually get triggered, and what a full professional health check adds beyond this quiz, our detailed guide: What Is a GST Health Check? A Complete Guide for Indian Businesses walks through each pillar in depth.
For a score below 80, or any red flags around ITC or RCM specifically, booking a free consultation with our GST team is the fastest way to turn this score into a fixed one.
